Celebrating cultural diversity and promoting inclusivity, this special event is organised to coincide with the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month. 

The exhibitions aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the historical and contemporary aspects of Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller communities.

I am very pleased to share some exciting news following our recent Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMs) visit which took place on Tuesday 25th March 2025. St Paul’s Cray Church of England Primary School continues to thrive as a Church school, providing a supportive environment where our pupils and staff can flourish. The attached report highlights our strengths as well as some areas for us to work on, which we're eager to embrace.

Our inspection highlighted that the decisions made by our school leaders and governors are guided by St Paul’s Cray’s Christian vision. This approach is having a positive impact on our pupils’ learning experiences. Our curriculum, along with a variety of extra-curricular activities, aligns with our vision and helps everyone in our school community to flourish. We recognise each pupil as an individual, and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive good support from staff who understand their unique needs. This helps create an environment where pupils feel safe and ready to engage in their learning.

We take pride in the effective pastoral care we offer, with a strong focus on well-being, which fosters a sense of belonging and inclusion. Our dedicated leaders demonstrate justice, mercy, and humility, ensuring that everyone feels respected and valued within our community.

Additionally, our strong partnerships with the Amadeus Primary Academies Trust and the local community reflect a shared commitment to supporting one another and ensuring everyone’s well-being. These connections enhance our school life and further strengthen the impact of our Christian vision.

The report also pointed out some areas for us to develop. We plan to implement a more structured process for governor monitoring and evaluating religious education (RE) and collective worship. We want to build on our current practices in RE to better understand the lived experiences of religious traditions around the world. Finally, we aim to deepen our understanding of spirituality across our school, giving us a unified approach to spiritual development.

They have had a busy couple of weeks presenting at the TEA's Bromley mid year meeting and then entering the across school competition to design a banner for the front of our school.

We are very pleased to say that the won! their design will be printed on to a banner and placed on our front fence - keep a look out for it!

Dear Parents & Carers,

I hope this message finds you well. Today we are beginning a consultation which invites you to comment on the closure of the Nursery at St Paul’s Cray CE Primary School.

After deep consideration and careful evaluation of our current enrolment numbers, the proposal is to close our Nursery, effective from Autumn Term 2025. This decision was not made lightly, and we understand the significant impact it may have on our community but the proposal is due to insufficient demand for places and the associated financial losses resulting from this. 

Despite our best efforts to encourage enrolment, we have seen a consistent decline in the number of children attending the nursery and currently the number of children we have on roll/our waiting list does not make it financially viable. We believe that focusing our resources in other areas will allow us to enhance the educational experience for all our students.

The change will take effect from 1^st September 2025.

We have a 30 spaces per session in our Nursery for three and four year olds, and due to lack of demand have this school year reduced this 16 spaces per session as we only 18 children on roll throughout the year. Pupil admission numbers into our Reception classes have also fallen steadily over recent years from around 45 to less than 30.  The Nursery currently only operates on a part time basis as there were too few children for us to warrant us opening full time this school year.

We are keen to provide a continuity of educational provision for Nursery aged children and therefore we would also like to share that we are in discussions with another provider who may be interested in taking over the nursery. Should these discussions lead to a positive outcome, we will keep you updated and provide any relevant information about transition options for your children.

The school values highly the views and opinions of the community within which it operates. We now seek your views regarding the closure of the Nursery at St Paul’s Cray CE Primary School.

The consultation will run from Friday 14^th February 2025 to Friday 14th March 2025.

The Pantry will introduce a new way of booking school meals and the onus will be on parents to book via their website ALL meals for their child, we have attached an introduction letter for now from The Pantry and further information will be coming out to parents in due course.

Children in Reception to year 6 will still have free meals due to the Mayors funding/Universal Free School Meals.

Children in Nursery/paying children will be charged £2.53 per meal and this will be payable direct to The Pantry.

You can now book your child on to the Holiday activities and food programme this Winter 2024. There are several exciting activities available, including nutritious meals. The offer is free to all children who are eligible for benefit-related free school meals. Each provision will offer eligible children the opportunity to enjoy fun activities that will enable them to develop new skills, build confidence and meet new friends outside of term time.

Do feel free to visit Bromley Council’s website at Holiday activities and food programme – London Borough of Bromley and book directly with the provider of your choosing. Please book this as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
